Highlands Coalition is addressing a number of environmental, social and economic issues in the Highlands neighborhood in Lynn. Faced with high crime rates and economic hardship, the Coalition takes a broad view in seeking solutions for environmental justice issues. The Highlands Coalition received a grant in 2010 to support the community garden started on school property. The group seeks to build 10 more raised beds and funding is for lumber and to provide stipends to Youth coordinators.

Our Purpose
We: a) work to improve the lives of Highlanders and brings resources to the neighborhood; b) believe that a community school working with a neighborhood group is the best way to educate a neighborhood; c) believe that, along with education, good health is a pathway out of poverty; d) work with other groups to benefit low-income and working people.
