Vision: To become a leading example of a wood bank in Maine serving those in need.Mission: The Downeast Wood Bank aims to help community members with life essentials by supplying firewood at no cost to those in need that rely on firewood as a heating source. Our target population are individuals and families who are running short on funds and fuel to heat their homes and live in specific communities within our catchment area.Strategic goals: Over the next five years, the Downeast Wood Bank aspires to:

1. Expand the number of communities within our catchment area.
2. Grow our volunteer base.
3. Increase the number of grants as well as donations from individual donors.
4. Enhance awareness of the program in the communities we serve.
