Our Purpose

Our purpose is to  is to support students and families of color to have an impact on their students’ educational experiences through anti-racist approach to family engagement across Cambridge. We support families of color across Cambridge through educational programs and training, access to resources, community needs assessments, regular meetings with school district leaders, community events, and both formal and information spaces for caregivers of color to connect and engage with one another and with the resources they need.In 2020, CFCC received funding and partnered with a community organization led by BIPOC (Agncy) to design The Village - a school committee charged to form a caregiver university. The Village launched its pilot in 2021 through differnet community events and workshops. For one of these workshops, CFCC partnered with a community bank branch manager and local Black father, Michael Reid, to deliver a Personal and Family Finance workshop geared towards families of color and addressing financial literacy basics and ways to support post-secondary education for students. Through the Grow Grant funding, we aim to grow CFCC’s financial literacy program by producing two additional workshops that dive deeper and meet the needs of families of color in our community.
