BWINH Collective exists to build the relationships, resources, and community infrastructure Black people need to thrive in New Hampshire and surrounding areas. We began because Black women were experiencing isolation and lacked spaces where we could gather, build relationships, and address our needs without having to explain or minimize our experiences.Over time, that community has grown into a broader effort rooted in Black self-determination, collective care, and cooperation. Our big-picture goal is to help build a thriving and sustainable Black community where people have the relationships, resources, knowledge, leadership opportunities, and collective power to care for one another and shape the conditions of our own lives. We approach Black community as an ecosystem. Our gatherings, mutual aid, food sovereignty, education, leadership development, healing spaces, coalition building, and cooperative efforts are not separate projects. They are interconnected pieces of community infrastructure. Ultimately, we are working toward a future where Black communities are less dependent on systems that have historically excluded or underserved us and have greater capacity to create, resource, and sustain solutions of our own.
