Our Purpose

Our big picture goal is to build a thriving, self-determined Black community in New Hampshire that lives with dignity, healing, joy, and pride. We became active because Black people in this state face deep isolation and systemic barriers, with Black women, femmes, queer, poor, and disabled community members most impacted. At the same time, our histories are erased and resources rarely flow into Black-led work.We formed to change that reality. We create spaces where Black people connect, celebrate culture, and ease isolation, knowing that joy and togetherness are forms of resistance. We grow the confidence, skills, and boldness of Black women, femmes, and queer folks to lead in ways true to our culture, reshaping what leadership looks like. We honor the grief and trauma of racism while reclaiming ancestral practices of healing. We strengthen survival and sustainability through collective solutions in food, housing, and education. Our overall goal is to build coalitions and cooperative systems that return decision-making power to grassroots Black communities and ensure that those most impacted set the agenda for our collective future.
