BIPOC Kids on the Block LLC
Our Purpose
BIPOC Kids on the Block facilitates meaningful meetups to foster lasting cultural connections among youth, and their families, in Seacoast, NH. The main goal of BKOTB is to bring youth of color, ages 2-17, together with their families, in safe spaces to engage in activities that promote self-confidence, celebrate heritage, and allow them to learn, grow, and connect with others from diverse backgrounds. We also acknowledge that families are made in various ways, and thus BIPOC youth may have parents/guradians or siblings that are non-BIPOC. Our groups celebrate these families, too, and the necessary connections among parents of all cultural identities raising children of color. While our current focus serves BIPOC youth and their families, we are working toward opportunities for non-BIPOC families who are committed to celebrating the diverse richness of cultures and identities. Parents have expressed to me their struggles to find this kind of group or experience for their kids, and I believe the work that I am doing is helping families of all makeups navigate the complexities of raising children of color in Seacoast, NH. Being able to combine my experience in education with the intricacies of parenting young children, has allowed me to bravely face challenges and find ways to create the change I want to see. BIPOC Kids on the Block has become that for me, and many other families in the Seacoast.
