In the Biodiversity Builders℠ (BB) Youth Program teens and college students earn a stipend while they improve local ecosystems. The purpose of BB is to give youth agency in solving environmental and societal challenges on a local level. Using project-based, youth-directed learning, we expose youth to nature and give them a connection to native flora and other elements of healthy ecosystems. They also interact with activists, entomologists, entrepreneurs, policy makers, and stewards. We aim to provide opportunities for youth in nature to shape a society that is equitable, sustainable, and respectful of all people and natural resources. This particular project is aimed at documenting and expanding our BB curriculum in order to better share it with community members and prepare youth for our education program.
