Need help figuring out where to spend that extra $10 this holiday season? We all know that real change only comes from the roots. With 1,000 grantee groups, each getting 10 people to give $10, we can raise $100,000 towards REAL grassroots change. Town Hall Energy Audit Sparks $138,000
Using a NEGEF small grant to perform an energy audit on the local Walpole, NH town hall, the Triville Energy Committee did so well educating the community about the energy consumption that it earned $138,000! After hearing about the potential energy-saving measures for the building, a local citizen decided to apply for a RGGI-funded grant. The committee liked the application so much, $138,000 was granted for a $48,000 request to weatherize the town hall. From Here to Copenhagen: Act Local!

Antioch New England announces its Spring Clinic RFP. Clinic participants provide pro bono advocacy work on behalf of Clinic clients - organizations at the local, state, national or international level working for sustainability and environmental protection, corporate accountability, democratic governance and social justice. BGI Grantee Cambridge HEET (Home Energy Efficiency Team) organizes free weatherization parties to teach volunteers hands-on how to lower their energy bills and carbon emissions. Volunteers have weatherized 24 buildings within Cambridge alone, saving 146,000 lbs. of carbon from being released. The group won the city's GoGreen award this year as the City's Outstanding Community Organization working toward sustainability.
