The Gardeners Gathering is an annual citywide event for community gardeners and other garden enthusiasts. Held in the spring of each year, the event is a welcome kick- off to Boston’s upcoming gardening season. The event is filled with informative and fun activities and workshops. Gardening and green space organizations are present to provide current program information.

More than 30 workshops on all aspects of land conservation work; this event attracts close to 500 land trust board members, volunteers and staff, open space committees, conservation commissioners, state and municipal employees and students every year. More information will be available in mid January 2010. This year’s theme is “The Next Generation of Land Conservation.”

Bountiful Brookline will welcome all gardeners to an afternoon of hands-on workshops, gardening resources and gatherings with other food-growing enthusiasts. At this free event attendees will learn about growing fruits and vegetables in tiny spaces, tall spaces, shared spaces and very long skinny spaces. At the event you will meet Vermont farmer Ben Hewitt, author of the new book “The Town That Food Saved: How One Community Found Vitality in Local Food.” A book signing will follow, together with workshops and meetings for gardeners at home, schools, community gardens, along fences, and places in between.

This Spring, just as it comes time to plant the garden, NOFA/Mass presents its third annual Statewide Spring Organic Gardening Day. On April 10, there will be organic gardening workshops in every region of the state.
